Patch Notes

Moving from 3D to 2D I’ve decided to completely transition both the player character and enemies from 3D models to 2D. Originally, I was tweaking 3D rigs to add procedural variation to the combat animations for a more realistic feel. Unfortunately, pushing those 3D models too far resulted in the classic "noodle bug"—limbs stretching and warping uncontrollably. Switching to 2D completely eliminates those mesh distortion issues while still giving me the freedom to fine-tune combat movement.
Alongside the visual overhaul, I’ve also zoomed the camera in closer to the action and completely revamped the enemy attack system.

Hey! I was reading your latest Lost Drifter patch notes, and I thought the switch from 3D models to 2D was an interesting decision. I like that you chose to change the approach instead of forcing the original rigs to work, especially since combat animations are such a big part of an action game.
With the camera now closer to the action and the enemy attack system reworked too, I'm curious, has the move to 2D given you more freedom to make fights feel faster and more readable?
